Bundled, and Bungled

Yesterday was the coldest February 20 in DC in 120 years. It was five degrees. I had bunch of errands to run, so out we went:

By 11, I felt like we were really nailing it. Darren and I had taken care of a tax meeting (she slept the whole time), I had gotten a real, hot Starbucks (she charmed everyone), and I fed her in the car without major incident (she stayed warm and actually ate... what's a little spit up?). I had even scheduled a pediatrician appointment to have her four-days-gooey eye checked out (blocked tear duct, if you're wondering).

Then, as I was standing amidst the tomatoes and the avocados, snapping the below pic ("Look at us! Weather shmeather!")...

...the customer service rep came over the loudspeaker:

"Safeway customers. There is an Audi A3 in the parking lot.

Station wagon.

Black.

(Slowest recitation of license plate number ever)

You left your driver's side door open."

Oops.
