It is actually pretty tough to come up with all of the right words to describe mother's day. I already thought that being a mom was the absolute best, and that's before I realized that there are now three entirely new holidays on the calendar each year. Anyone who knows me well knows that there are few things I love more than an excuse to celebrate, with a theme.

The thing about Mother's Day is it just seems gluttonous. To be celebrated for getting to be this girl's mom just seems like too much goodness. I am so lucky to have her and to have the mom I have. Mother's Day was a grateful day for me.

We spent the day brunching, introducing Harper to soccer, and indulging in an impromptu afternoon eating and drinking tour of my favorite indoor/outdoor market in D.C. It was perfect.
