We celebrated one of Darren's oldest and dearest friend's weddings this weekend in Philly. Harper stayed with the Gargiones and had the most fun-filled, giggle-filled, love-filled weekend.
When we left Park Ave for Philly on Friday, I was all worried that Harper would freak out when she woke up from her nap and didn't find us there with her. I asked Maureen to FaceTime me when she woke up. When she appeared on the screen, she took a quick glance at me before scampering off to find Bubba, the Gargione's dog. Maureen dutifully followed her as she chased Bubba while I carefully explained, "Mama and dada will be away and you're doing to stay with MoMo and Zio and we'll see you in two mornings... Ok peanut?" She turned and looked back at the screen, threw her head and her hand back around her shoulder and happily chirped, "bye bye Mama!"
What an incredible feeling to know that your daughter is not only safe and loved but is also THRILLED to be just where she is even though you're not there.
Here are just a few pics from her weekend. Clearly, lots of time spent learning life lessons from Zio - at the dinner table, atop his tummy, and most importantly, in the kitchen!
We also got to have a full reunion with all of the kids, including Isa straight of a plane from her European adventures and Cole and Max straight off a night out at the shore- true love to show up on Park ave at 9:30 am on a Sunday!
The video footage of the weekend is particularly hysterical, pure joy...
...and while Harper was having all this fun, mom and dad got dolled up and enjoyed the big night!
THANK YOU GARGIONES!!
