4th of July Weekend

This long weekend was delicious. We were home. We didn't pack up the truck for an overnight. We didn't embark on a 3+ hour drive. The highlights feel like too many to count: Zara & Porter reunion, Leo's birthday party, BBQ with friends, zoo trip and aquarium trip. But somehow we also managed to lounge, puddle jump, and have a full, leisurely family date for the entirety of the 4th of July, complete with afternoon tickle and cuddle fest on our living room rug.

I guess this is what happens when you don't travel on a 3 day weekend? Who knew!

While our day was filled with so much laughter, we also learned today of the loss of a dear friend to our family for a long time, and someone who is central to our core people. So, as the fireworks are still firing while I type and America celebrates, my heart is full with gratitude but also heavy, and I'm sending all of our love to our peeps.
