Loved Little Lady

We spent time with SO many people whom we love, love, love this week. These visits also coincided with Harper's discovery that reaching and grabbing faces is THE most fun thing ever.

First, Ash was in town for work! It was such a treat to spend a night catching up. We are so excited to welcome baby girl Rea #2 to the world this summer! Girls are the best.

On Friday, we made our way up to NJ. We got to squeeze in some QT with the Gargiones and Mom (Camella Sauce duty called for Max and Italo during Harper's waking hours).

Then we cruised up to Connecticut to shower baby Reed (so exciting!). We had the best time with Fischy and Ty, complete with smoked meats (and smoker malfunction / repair - nothing makes Darren happier), an evening lounging by the firepit and a morning lounging in the hammock, and a lot of fantastic photo opportunities of Harper taking in the largest man she's ever seen.

Next, we were off to visit Aunt Cassy, Uncle Dick, and Bob Baylis. It was so special to get to introduce Harper to this family.

By now you've realized I wasn't kidding about the whole face-grabbing-thing...

Also, no one sets a table like Aunt Cassy:

Our drive home marked the first time we've actually had to make a concerted effort to entertain Harper on a road trip:

She was pretty over it by hour four of the drive. And thus begins the car travel-with child portion of our lives (the easy trips before now just don't count).

This week was such a reminder of how incredibly lucky and loved we are. And how nice it is to live on the (underrated) east coast.
